Derf came home from the hospital this morning, feeling much better, except for where they put the IV in his arm. I'm worried about that, but I'm also at work and can only wait for updates from the guys. Seems the area where the IV had been inserted is now red and hot. He called the doctor, who was the one who discharged him this morning, but I haven't heard if the doctor advised anything yet. If it gets worse, Derf is going to have his mom take him to the emergency room.

Thanks for all your kind thoughts so far.

ETA: The doctor prescribed antibiotics, but Derf also has an appointment this afternoon so his usual doctor (not the one on call) can take a look at it.

Glad Derf's feeling better! The new wound sounds like his IV went interstitial and he has cellulitis. Antibiotic's will sort that out. Maybe IV antibiotics.
