A Fine Fourth!

Except for the fact that Derf broke another rib today (he has osteoporosis), and we had to call a sheriff's deputy to the house, everything was good. And the deputy's visit wasn't a bad thing, either, really.

Someone parked a brand-new (still with tags) bike in our back yard the other day. I thought perhaps either one of Jon's friends owned it or someone dropped it off there and would be back for it, but no such luck. So we filed a report and had the deputy take the bike, just in case someone lost it and reported it stolen. If no one claims it in 90 days, we can have it back, if we want it, although I like the idea of it being donated to the Boys Club instead. It's a nice Schwinn, and cost someone $150 according to the sticker.

This evening we went to Derf's sister's house, and she has a pool. The kids all went swimming and we all ate barbecue together. Later this evening, Derf, Jon and I went down to the riverfront in Palmetto and watched the fireworks. We could have stayed home. All our neighbors are still setting things off and it's really noisy around here.

I'm sorry to hear you got rained out, Jen. I wish it would rain on this coast!
